Routt County Humane Society’s Longest Resident, Chunky Monkey, Is A Lovable Canine Looking for a Furever Home

Routt County Humane Society (RCHS)  is looking to spread the word about Chunky Monkey, a five-year-old dog who has been living at the shelter since July 2022. Chunky Monkey was found abandoned on a rural road in Routt County, and has been waiting patiently for his furever home ever since.

Despite his tough go, Chunky Monkey is a lovable and affectionate dog who has quickly become a favorite among the shelter staff and volunteers. He is a medium-sized mixed breed with a gorgeous coat of fur and a wagging tail that never stops.

Chunky Monkey is a cuddle bug!  Although he is picky about his dog friends he loves humans and is always up for a game of fetch, a long walk in the woods, or just a cuddle on the couch. He is a gentle soul who will make a loyal and devoted companion to whoever is lucky enough to adopt him.

The staff and volunteers at Routt County Humane Society have been working tirelessly to find the perfect home for Chunky Monkey. They are looking for a family who will give him the love and attention he deserves.

“Chunky Monkey is a special dog who has captured the hearts of everyone at our shelter,” says Elaine Hicks, Executive Director of Routt County Humane Society. “We are confident that there is a perfect person or family out there for him, and we are committed to finding them.”

If you are interested in adopting Chunky Monkey, please contact the Routt County Humane Society at 970-878-7247 or stop by 760 Critter Court today to meet him. Let’s find Chunky Monkey his forever home!
