Routt County Humane Society Secures Grant To Provide Crucial Veterinary Care For Low-Income Pet Owners

Routt County Humane Society (RCHS), a leading advocate for animal welfare in Routt County, CO, is proud to announce the successful acquisition of a $3,000 grant dedicated to offering essential veterinary care services for low-income pet owners. This grant, generously provided by SBNY of Steamboat Springs, will enable RCHS to make a significant impact on the well-being of pets and their families within our community.

SBNY, by providing this funding, will allow RCHS to extend its services to low-income pet owners in Routt County, addressing a critical need within our community. This funding will specifically cover services with RCHS such as wellness visits, diagnostics and treatment associated with illnesses and/or minor injuries and partnering with local veterinarians for emergency medical treatment that cannot be accommodated at the RCHS Wellness Clinic.

We are grateful for the collaboration with SBNY, which will play a vital role in delivering the veterinary services funded by the grant. This partnership ensures that the grant’s impact is maximized and reaches those in our community who need it most.

RCHS acknowledges the ongoing support of our community members, volunteers, and partners who have played a crucial role in our success. Their dedication to animal welfare has been instrumental in promoting and enhancing the human-animal bond.

Elaine Hicks, Executive Director, said that with “this generous donation, SBNY is dedicated to making a positive impact in our communities by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels accepted and empowered. By partnering with RCHS to provide accessible and affordable veterinary care, SBNY is demonstrating their commitment to be an advocate of pets and their people.”

By securing this grant, RCHS and SBNY aims to make a lasting impact on the lives of pets and their families, fostering a healthier and happier community for all.
